Role
Bookie owns work such as:
- audiobook conversion and size reduction
- preservation of chapters and cover art
- bitrate and format policy
- author, series, title, and folder organization
- treatment of boxed sets, omnibuses, and uncertain metadata
- verification and quarantine behavior
Current Direction
The audiobook archive favors manageable local preservation without sacrificing listenability or useful structure.
Existing project direction includes:
- M4B output
- AAC audio at an archive-appropriate bitrate
- chapter preservation
- cover-art retention
- skipping unnecessary re-encoding when the source is already within the accepted range
- author and series-based folder organization
- quarantine for ambiguous boxed sets and omnibuses
