Duty Log

The Duty Log records the active edge of the work: where we stopped, what was established, what remains open, and what action comes next.

It is not a transcript and it is not the permanent home of settled knowledge. When an item becomes settled, move the durable conclusion into the Codex or the relevant tool manual.

Establish Walter's persistent front door

Objective

Create a small, linked repository structure that Walter can enter through one stable URL and navigate without guessing filenames or browsing the repository.

• Walter's charter belongs in WALTER_START_HERE.md.
• The Codex records what the project knows.
• The Duty Log records where work stopped.
• Tool manuals record how each tool currently works.
• The project is the WoodPile Codex or WoodPile standard; the abandoned “Joe Standard” name is not canonical.
• The former Media Standardizer is now The Cleaner.
• Current members are The Cleaner, The Wrangler, Bookie, and Walter.
• Navigation must use explicit Markdown links.

• Replaced the startup stub with Walter's charter and navigation page.
• Created the WoodPile orientation, Codex, Duty Log, and Flywheel documents.
• Created initial manuals for Cleaner, Wrangler, and Bookie.
• Linked the documents into a navigable structure.

After access is proven, begin replacing the initial manual and Codex summaries with the strongest existing project material rather than expanding the structure speculatively.
