The Wrangler
The Wrangler handles the organization and presentation of media after or around preparation.
Role
The Wrangler owns work such as:
- filenames
- folder names and structure
- titles and years
- metadata cleanup
- track language and title cleanup
- subtitle labeling and selection
- removal or quarantine of unwanted material
- movement into the correct library structure
Encoding and scaling policy belong primarily to The Cleaner.
Current Direction
The Wrangler should produce consistent, readable library entries that feel as though they came from one careful release group rather than many unrelated sources.
Established direction includes:
- spaces rather than dotted release names
- stable title and year presentation
- deliberate movie folder rules
- English and English SDH subtitle handling
- removal of unnecessary track titles
- warnings rather than silent assumptions when required information is missing
Exact current behavior should be expanded here from the strongest existing Wrangler source and test record.
Manual Structure to Build
This manual will eventually contain:
- current interface image
- naming and folder rules
- metadata and language rules
- subtitle behavior
- file replacement and trash behavior
- warnings and failure handling
- source links
- known limitations
- active work links back to the Duty Log
